The Colours of Kenya Tour sees Judy Campbell's MOSAIC venturing into new parts of regional NSW, and extending their activities into Queensland and Victoria. Their tour aims to raise awareness of the Kenyan Mentoring Program run by the Tweed Shire Council. MOSAIC will specifically raise money for the innovative Safe Water Project, an initiative of this program.
The international line-up for the Colours of Kenya Tour features award-winning bassist, Brendan Clarke, drummer Jamie Cameron and acclaimed Austrian pianist, Michael Kahr. Guitarists featured with the band during the tour are James Muller, Jeremy Sawkins and Aaron Flower. Kenyan master percussionist Bandika Ngao joins the band from Mombasa for the tour. Mark Ginsburg, saxophonist and backing vocalist, is a key contributing composer. Vocalist Justine Bradley features in lead and vocal ensemble roles, as does band leader Judy Campbell. Judy also plays the unique array mbira, an instrument evolved from the traditional mbira of Zimbabwe. Judy and Justine are contributing composers and with Mark, form the core of the vocal texture fundamental to the MOSAIC sound.
